Birmingham Skylight Centre launches class in podcasting
Members of Crisis Skylight Centres will soon be hitting the airwaves after a course in podcasting was launched at the Birmingham centre.
The course will see homeless and vulnerably housed members create a downloadable radio show and podcast that will be available on the Crisis website. The shows will have a focus on some of the issues and experiences surrounding homelessness and feature music recorded by Skylight members, interviews, life stories, advice and guidance, comedy and poems.
Pete Homer, who is running the course, said: "We are thrilled to be launching our very first podcast series, written and produced by Skylight members. Listen out for the latest news, music demos, inspirational stories and views that matter to you.
"We are seeking audio content from all of our members across the country who would like to get involved and we welcome suggestions for topics for our shows."
Pete said he is hopeful the first podcast will be available next week and that they will be about 20 minutes in length.
If you have suggestions for possible topics you can email him at eurphoria_pete@yahoo.co.uk.
