Drama group performs murder mystery play at special event
The Crisis Skylight Newcastle drama group has performed 'Sheerluck Holmes and the peculiar case of a movie star's marriage' at a special event hosted by the Crisis Skylight Cafe after weeks of dedicated rehearsal.
The play consisted of three acts with breaks in between for the audience to enjoy refreshments from the Crisis Skylight Café’s menu of delicious food and speciality coffees. The audience also had a chance to ask the cast questions about their characters and in small groups were given the task of identifying the murderer and the motive.
The drama group had been rehearsing every Wednesday morning from 10am until 12pm throughout the spring and summer timetables to put the performance together.
Cast member Trevor Bain said, “It was great to have my 15 minutes of fame. I was told by an audience member that it was great and funny, which was a lovely, warming feeling for me and probably the rest of the cast”.
The drama group is also working towards putting a performance together for World Mental Health Day taking place on 10th October.
