Rumer attends Crisis music workshop

The singer joined homeless musicians at Crisis Skylight London for a songwriting session.

The class was centred around Rumer’s hit single Aretha, with the group engaging in a lively discussion about the song’s lyrics before the singer answered questions about her craft and career.

Later, Rumer gave an acoustic performance of the track, before members of the class performed some of their own original compositions, inspired by recent events and their musical heroes.

Music workshops are just one of the many learning opportunities offered by Crisis Skylight London, designed to help homeless people feel better about themselves, develop new skills and increase motivation.

Rumer said: “Having volunteered at Crisis at Christmas in the past, it was great to be invited to come down and see first-hand how songwriting sessions can really help vulnerable people regain self-confidence and explore their creativity.”
