Crisis Campaign goes to Downing Street
Crisis campaigners today (1/04//10) went to Downing Street to deliver a petition calling for a change in the law to ensure better help for homeless people.
The group were at Number 10 to hand in the Expose the truth campaign petition calling for reform of the law that means that if you don't tick the right boxes, you may well not get the help you need.
The numbers allowed into Downing Street are strictly limited, so the small group included two Crisis e-campaigners (from more than 100 who registered for the chance to come with us) three Crisis members who have themselves experienced homelessness and one member of staff.
We are grateful to the 1,500 people who signed our petition. As well as taking it Downing Street on Thursday March 1, we’ll also be making sure that opposition parties know the strength of support behind our call for change.
