Gary Mitchell, Guitar Tutor at Crisis Skylight London, said: "In the class we learn songs and guitar techniques practically. I try to keep it simple and use humour as much as possible. In between playing songs collectively I go round individually helping with technique and trying to instill self-belief."

"One student who started from scratch a year or two ago progressed well and eventually reached the stage where he was confident enough to perform the instrumental piece ‘Romanza' in front of around 100 people at the Skylighter evening concert."

For members keen to continue, Gary runs a week-long summer school Masterclass for graduates of the beginners' class.
