New volunteering roles

There were many new volunteering roles available at Crisis Open Christmas in 2006, and it was fantastic to see how flexible and ready to take on new challenges people were. More information on new volunteering roles at Crisis Open Christmas

  • Over 200 people signed up for the new support service volunteering
  • There were 30 per cent more service volunteers
  • And 40 per cent more learning & skills volunteers

A record 6000 volunteers were involved in total.

Online volunteering questionnaire

After the event many volunteers took the opportunity to complete our online volunteer questionnaire – the feedback we got through this was invaluable and will help us to make the experience of volunteering even more rewarding in future years. We were particularly delighted that 97 per cent of the volunteers who completed the survey said they would recommend volunteering at the COC to friends.

Volunteers make Crisis Open Christmas

Every year our guests tell us that it is the volunteers that make the Crisis Open Christmas – the commitment and support they provide really does get noticed. Together they helped make the lives of many homeless people more meaningful – thank you to all those who were a part of it. More information on volunteering at Crisis Open Christmas.

One of our guests said

“The volunteers are amazing – their warmth, love and caring make a huge difference. I'd be lost without the Crisis Open Christmas.” Guest at the Deptford Day Centre, COC 2006
