Why should you support us?

It is a scandal that people are homeless in Britain at the beginning of the 21st Century.

The number of people sleeping rough has declined in recent years, but that doesn’t mean homelessness has gone away. We estimate there are tens of thousands of homeless people hidden in hostels, run-down B&Bs, squats or sleeping on friends' floors. They may have a roof over their head, but their problems haven’t gone away.

Homeless people often lead lonely and wretched lives

Many are single, without dependent children, so they’re bottom of the housing waiting list. With low confidence and self-esteem, low skills, lack of employment, poor mental and physical health and insufficient access to appropriate housing, they find it almost impossible to move on with their life.

  • Over 3,000 people have been seen sleeping rough in London in the past year
  • On average 483 people are sleeping rough on the streets of England on any single night.

Could you give regularly?

Regular gifts are extremely valuable. There is no ‘quick fix’ solution to the problems that homeless people face. That is why year-round services like Crisis Skylight, Crisis Employment Services and Crisis Changing Lives are vital; they ensure that homeless and vulnerably-housed people have access to the help and support they need, 365 days a year.

A regular gift gives Crisis a secure and reliable income, which means that we can plan long-term projects cost-effectively. If you would like to support us in this way, there are a number of ways to set up your Direct Debit; either online or download a Direct Debit mandate.

Alternatively you could choose to Give as you Earn through Payroll Giving.
