| | Shake it about for Crisis! Sapphira, a Crisis supporter, donated the profits from her recentShimmy Shake Belly Dance and Burlesque show to Crisis. The evening was a great success and raised lots of money for homeless people. |
Sylvie, Kayvan and Kate are three volunteers who met at Crisis Open Christmas 2007. They wanted to do something to fundraise but decided that all the usual things like running a marathon or jumping out of a plane were too tricky. Thus the Summer Solstice Party was born! The event had live music, a DJ and cheap drinks to celebrate the longest day (21 June) and support Crisis at the same time.
Richard Hawkins lost 14.87 per cent of his body weight over three months in a challenge with 7 other 'Fat Bankers'.
Brendan Peilow and his friends are going all out to celebrate Brendan's 50th birthday in a big way. They are attempting to raise £50k for five charities including Crisis. Brendan is a chef at Crisis Open Christmas (he says he hasn't poisoned anyone yet). So far their exploits have included a sponsored walk, winetasting, music concerts and a cycle ride from London to Geneva. Brendan has already raised almost £5k for Crisis.
| | Ruth Lie, who works in an architecture and urban design company, decided to hold a charity art exhibition called Art with a Heart. The theme was 'displacement' which reflects much about the lives of homeless people. Ruth kindly included some pieces of work produced by members at Crisis Skylight's art classes. |
At least 50% of the proceeds from the sale of artworks was donated to Crisis and a refugee charity.
Jan Barnes completed the Great Wall of China Marathon on 17 May in memory of her dear friend Belinda 'Binks' Brewer who was a supporter of Crisis. Binks was obviously a very special lady. Jan completed this incredibly tough challenge in seven hours and three minutes, coming first in her age category. She didn't hit the wall, she ran, walked and climbed it!!
