Sometimes people have no option but to set up home on the streets. They find whatever shelter they can and hope that one day, they’ll have a place to call their own.
Hidden homelessness
The lucky ones find a room in a hostel, sleep on a friend’s sofa, bed down in a squat or stay in second-rate B&B accommodation. But this is only a short-term solution. Many end up being forced back onto the streets. | |
Trapped in a never-ending cycle
These people are out of sight, trapped in a never-ending cycle. They move from place to place, constantly worrying about where they’re going to sleep next. They desperately need a permanent and secure home if they’re ever to break out of this cycle.
At Crisis, we see hidden homeless people. We want to help them find a permanent place to live and teach them the everyday skills needed to keep and look after a home. This will give them the structure
and security they need to turn their lives around.
