Mentoring scheme

In July 2008, the Crisis Mentoring Scheme was launched after a successful pilot programme over the last two years. The new scheme will recruit mentors to offer one-to-one support to our clients over a 12 month period.

What does it involve?

The scheme will:

  • Recruit 30 mentors in London and Newcastle from July 2008 - June 2009
  • Mentors will be paired up with a Crisis client from one of our services
  • Meetings will be two hours a month over a 12 month period
  • Mentors will work with clients on specific progression goals and objectives

Support and Training

For the mentee (Crisis client) to receive the full advantage of a mentor it is vitally important that all mentors are well trained and supported throughout the mentoring scheme.

Crisis will give all mentors following support:

  • One day training covering all aspects of mentoring
  • Quarterly meeting with fellow mentors and Crisis staff
  • Weekly drop in sessions available with Volunteer Manager
  • Travel expenses reimbursed

Interested?

The scheme recruits twice a year - September 2008 and March 2009.
