Since we opened Skylight, City House, 270 members have come through our doors.
The jewellery making session at Skylight has proved very popular. Members are looking at ways of displaying their work in our café as well as holding an art exhibition in our gallery space.
There has been a huge response to our IT classes, and more sessions are being added to the timetable every week. One member has even developed his own website.
Some of ICT, ESOL (English speakers of other languages) and basic skills in literacy and numeracy sessions have been all-women, or all men. In all of these sessions our members have told us working with people of the same gender helps them to feel more confident and comfortable in a learning environment.
