Training tips

  • A rest is as good as a run! Obey your body if you feel exhausted take time out.
  • Drink lots of water and avoid alcohol the day before the run.
  • In the last two weeks of your training try to run the full distance – then work on timing yourself to increase your performance.
  • As with all exercise you must warm up – join in our Square Mile Run aerobic warm-up with Fitness First before you step up to the starting line!

Our online partner, Realbuzz have put together two six-week training plans, one for complete beginners and an intermediate one too. If you’re planning to run the route, and you don’t run regularly, it’s a great way to ensure you’re properly prepared and achieve the best time you possibly can.
