Being a Support Worker
What does the support worker need to do?
Once you become a named support worker it is your responsibility to take control of the funds transferred to your organisation.
This means ensuring that all funds can be accounted for and that records are kept for all expenditure. It also means ensuring that we are able to contact the award winner after six months and after 12 months of the grants being made to record progress.
Signing the application form means you agree to
- Purchase everything on behalf of / with your client (ensuring no funds are given directly to the client) collecting receipts for all purchases and forwarding them to the Crisis Changing Lives team at Crisis UK. Please also keep a copy for your own records.
- Returning any unspent or unaccounted for funds (cheques made payable to Crisis UK and returned to the Crisis Changing Lives team) ensuring that any changes to client details are registered with us for the 12 month monitoring period
- Follow up grant recipients if they fail to return monitoring forms (sent after 6 and 12 months) notifying the Crisis Changing Lives team if you leave your post and nominating a suitable colleague to take control of the award
What if my client relapses?
- You are not liable to pay back any funds for purchases made as long as we receive all receipts.
- You would still be responsible for sending back all unspent funds and all receipts for expenditure totalling the full amount of the award.
