Crisis Changing Lives second grants

What are second grants?

We have two types of second grants:

  • Education grant (see definition below)
  • Self-employment grant (see definition below)

These grants are available to anyone who received their first grant between one and three years ago. Applicants must be progressing well towards their identified goal and:

  • Be over 18
  • Have been clean and dry for at least six months
  • Have been living in secure accommodation for at least six months
  • Be supported by a Crisis support worker who has been working with you for at least three months
  • Have returned all feedback forms from their first grant

Education grants

These are for any first grant recipient who is looking to continue or start an accredited course which is related to their original vocational/ career goal.

Applicants can apply for up to £2,500. The money granted is a grant and does not have to be paid back.

Self-employment grants

For a first grant recipient who is now looking to set up in self-employment in an area which is related to their original career goals. If applicants have not completed a small business course as part of their first grant, they must do so before applying.
