Newcastle Christmas volunteering opportunities
What's happening at Crisis Skylight Newcastle this Christmas?
The Crisis Skylight Newcastle Centre in City Road, Newcastle is opening up to provide a safe and welcoming place for the homeless, those at risk of becoming homeless and the isolated, to share their Christmas with others.
We are looking for over 150 Volunteers to help us make this happen.
What will volunteers do?
Volunteers can help on one or more morning or afternoon shift on either Christmas or Boxing Days, between 8 am - 8 pm when the centre is open.
Volunteer roles include:
- Welcoming guests
- Preparing and serving food,
- Handing out clothing,
- Watching films,
- Playing games and much more.
We are particularly looking for volunteers who can
- Drive mini buses
- Have a current First Aid or Food Hygiene certificate
- Are hairdressers
But - provided you are over 18 years old - all volunteers are welcome. What's most important is that volunteers are empathetic, prepared to listen to others, are non-judgemental and have a positive and supportive team player outlook.
If anyone you know may be interested in volunteering for this great event, please ask them to email peter.woods@crisis.org.uk for an application form.
Those who have taken part in previous years have really enjoyed being part of something very special for both guests and volunteers alike. So what are you waiting for? Why not join us at Crisis Skylight Newcastle as a Christmas volunteer this year.
