Crisis Skylight Birmingham
Crisis has teamed up with a number of local Birmingham organisations to launch Crisis Skylight Birmingham - a new arts, education, employment and training service for homeless and vulnerable adults.
Operating in south central Birmingham, Crisis Skylight Birmingham will offer a range of floating services delivering workshops, courses and one-to-one sessions in local community settings. Over three years, we expect Crisis Skylight Birmingham to almost double in size, to include its own building and to increase the scale and scope of the workshops, courses and sessions available.
The new services will include:
- Engagement activities, such as dance and wellbeing classes using art and creativity to start homeless people on the process of learning and rebuilding their self esteem and confidence
- Accredited learning, such as basic skills and ESOL
- SmartSkills - an innovative, intensive, one to one coaching programme leading to a City and Guilds qualification, designed by Crisis to support some of the most isolated and vulnerable adults in Birmingham develop the skills, confidence and aspirations to move into education and towards employment.
- A high quality coaching and Information, Advice and Guidance service co-ordinating support for vulnerable adults to successfully follow sustainable education, employment or training routes.
