Crisis - future developments
Helping more people in more places
In 2008 Crisis embarked on an exciting five-year strategy for 2008-2013 a major goal of which was to develop thriving, inspirational Skylights around the UK. As part of this we started to develop our work in targeted locations outside of the then existing centres in London and Newcastle. Despite the current tough economic climate, we have opened four more Skylights across the UK and we are planning a seventh to be opened in 2013.
We work on two models of Skylight.
- A centre-based model as in London, Newcastle and Oxford where our services are delivered in our own large and inspirational buildings.
- An outreach model as in Birmingham, Edinburgh and Merseyside where staff deliver sessions, courses and classes in the existing facilties of partner organisations which include hostels, day centres, colleges, arts centres and community centres.
