Crisis Volunteer Awards
The Crisis Volunteer Awards were established in 2008 to recognise the contribution of Crisis volunteers.
There are three different awards.
Make a Difference Award
Volunteers are nominated by their supervisors in recognition of excellence during their volunteering activity.
Nominated volunteers are invited to the annual volunteer summer boat party in August to get a framed certificate.
Crisis Volunteer of the Year
All those nominated for the Make a Difference Award are entered for the overall Crisis Volunteer of the Year.
An independent panel of staff and volunteers judge all nominations against the following criteria:
- Evidence of initiative or innovation
- Exceptional commitment over the last 12 months
- Exceptional impact to their team
- Has overcome certain obstacles to achieve the outcomes of their work
- Contribution to the well being and progression of Crisis clients
The Volunteer of the Year receives a crystal award at the annual Volunteer Summer Boat Party.
Long Service Award
All volunteers who have contributed 25 years or more get a crystal award in recognition of their efforts.
