Great North Swim

Great North Swim 23 and 24 June 2012

Windermere - one of the most picturesque lakes in the UK will once again stage the British Gas Great North Swim 2012.   

GNSThis is the UK's biggest outdoor swimming event, a one-mile outdoor swim in beautiful Lake Windermere, Cumbria, offering a brilliant challenge for all swimming abilities, from first timers to Olympic champions. Experience the thrill of open-water swimming, safe in the knowledge expert kayakers and safety boats are with you every stroke of the way.

This year we have guaranteed places, which are filling up fast.

We ask each runner to commit to raising a minimum of £250, and there is an initial registration fee of £51; this is deducted from your overall goal and included in the total that you raise. We provide a full package of support to our swimmers including:

  • Training tips and help
  • Crisis T-shirt
  • Dedicated member of the Crisis team to help with any questions or queries

Please note when selecting your preferred swimming date Crisis staff will only be at the event on Saturday 23 June to meet and support swimmers.
