You may need the following information before you start using the IntoWork Calculator.

  • The amount of income you get from benefits
  • The amount of income you get from your job or elsewhere (if applicable)
  • Your weekly rent
  • Your weekly service charge
  • Amount of council tax you pay
  • Your expenditure for the week (e.g. how much do you spend on travel, food and other living costs each week)

Please note: If you decide to go back to work or to claim benefits, you may need to

  • Provide evidence of your UK residency
  • Provide your national insurance number and proof that it is yours
  • Provide proof of your identity

You will find this information in your benefit award letter from Jobcentre Plus and/or from your payslip.
