Small business advice and training
Before submitting a self-employment grant application, you must undertake some form of small business training.
This is for us to know that you have support with your business.

- National Federation of Enterprise Agencies
- Inbiz is the National Business Agency with offices throughout England and Scotland

Things to consider
- Please make sure you take advice on whether self-employment will affect your benefits. Make sure the premises your business will be based at give their consent for you to be self employed at their address (particularly if you are living in a hostel or rented accommodation)

- Business Link has produced The No-Nonsense Guide to Starting a Business with advice about getting your business off the ground. This is vital to anyone launching a business and can provide answers to many of your questions.
- Working for Yourself -The Guide includes all the information you need about taxation when becoming self employed. It offers advice about self assessment, tax credits, national insurance and VAT
- When you become self-employed it is very important that you know how to register as self-employed with HM Revenue and Customs

- GLE (Greater London Enterprise) is an independent organisation offering a wide range of general and financial support throughout London
