Our current priorities

Single homelessness

Our experience shows that single people are often not given access to housing support services. The Government's Localism Bill will make it harder for single homeless people to access support they need. Read about the work we are doing to improve the help available, and prevent people becoming homeless in the first place.

Housing Benefit

We are very concerned about the impact of the Housing Benefit cuts announced in the budget and the comprehensive spending review (CSR). Read more about what we're doing to highlight the issues and campaign against the cuts.

Private Rented Sector (PRS)

We work with local authorities around the country to develop better schemes for housing people in the PRS, as well as campaigning for greater rights for private tenants. Find out more about what we are doing.

Welfare to Work

Lack of work is a major cause and consequence of homelessness. Read about what we're doing to support people into work and our recommendations for the government.

Squatting

Squatting in empty houses is difficult and dangerous. Most people who squat are forced into it as there is not enough homelessness service provision. Despite this, the Government is currently considering making squatting a criminal offence. Find out more about what we are doing to campaign against the criminalisation of squatters.
