Stop the cuts from causing homelessness
Benefit cuts will cause homelessness
Crisis is extremely concerned at the Coalition Government’s proposals to cut Housing Benefit. Already nearly half of claimants in the private rented sector face a shortfall between their benefit and their rent. If these cuts go ahead, it would mean some of the poorest households in the country lose a further £624 per year on average, with even higher losses in some parts of the country.
This will have very serious consequences for vulnerable people and will lead to homelessness for some.
Over the coming months we will be fighting these proposals and will be calling on you for support.
- We have produced a briefing which explains the extent and nature of the cuts and what their consequences are likely to be.
- To see how the cuts will affect your area you can download the official impact report released by the Government.
