Burlesque or bust
Shake it about for Crisis! Sapphira, a Crisis supporter, donated the profits from her recent Shimmy Shake Belly Dance and Burlesque show to Crisis. The evening was a great success and raised lots of money for homeless people.
Soul of the City sing for Crisis
Soul of the City, a Brighton based community choir, held a gig in aid of Crisis and successfully raised over £600 for Crisis.
The choir has over 130 members and sing a range of uplifting pop, soul and gospel.
Led by Vanessa Bielatowicz, the choir meet together to sing, socialise and raise money for local charities at their end of term gigs.
Art with a heart
Ruth Lie, who works in an architecture and urban design company, decided to hold a charity art exhibition called Art with a Heart. The theme was 'displacement' which reflects much about the lives of homeless people. Ruth kindly included some pieces of work produced by members at Crisis Skylight's art classes.
At least 50 per cent of the proceeds from the sale of artworks was donated to Crisis and a refugee charity.
Great Wall of China marathon
Jan Barnes completed the Great Wall of China Marathon in memory of her dear friend Belinda 'Binks' Brewer who was a supporter of Crisis. Binks was obviously a very special lady. Jan completed this incredibly tough challenge in seven hours and three minutes, coming first in her age category. She didn't hit the wall, she ran, walked and climbed it.
