We had a fantastic response to our volunteer appeal in 2011 so a big thank you to over 8000 volunteers who welcomed and assisted approximately 3,200 guests.

Crisis at Christmas - and how you can help
If you are homeless or living in hostel accommodation, Christmas can be a lonely and depressing time. For the past 39 years, Crisis at Christmas has helped to alleviate that loneliness.
We provide Christmas Centres across London from 23-30 December that offer vital companionship, hot meals and warmth, and a wide range of essential services that homeless people often miss out on.
This year, we expect nearly 3,000 guests to visit our nine centres across London, and we hope that for many this could be the first step towards leaving homelessness for good.
But we need more than 8,000 volunteers to make it happen, from those willing to 'muck in' and help out anywhere to people with particular skills like dentists, hairdressers, lorry drivers and performers.

As a General Volunteer
You will be absolutely vital to the smooth running of Crisis at Christmas as one of our General Volunteers.
We need more than 6,000 sociable and helpful people to work on a variety of tasks such as welcoming guests to our centres, serving food, sorting bedding and generally making sure things go to plan. A big part of your job will be getting to know our guests.
No special expertise is needed, just a general willingness to get involved and a desire to do something positive for the homeless this Christmas.
As a Logistics Volunteer
Join the team that makes Crisis at Christmas happen. From logistics and back office roles to driving vehicles, from co-ordinating food deliveries to translating, we need key people with special skills to help deliver the event.
As a Service Volunteer
We need a whole host of people with special qualifications to give our guests access to services they usually miss out on, including medical professionals, advice practitioners, hairdressers, alternative therapists, caterers and dog handlers.
As an Activities & Entertainments Volunteer
Performers, musicians, magicians, workshop-organisers, sports trainers and more required to help us inspire and entertain guests at our centres. If you think your talent can help us create some Christmas spirit in our guests' lives, click below to find out more.
