Your support worker
A Crisis Changing Lives grant can be applied for through your support worker.
Who is my support worker?
A support worker can be an employment coach, progression coach, housing officer - somebody working with you on a regular basis to improve your education, employability, living situation, or mental health. Your support worker must work for Crisis UK and needs to have known you for at least three months.
Why do I need a support worker?
What you receive is the equipment, materials or the chance to attend a course. This is the grant. No support worker is allowed to give any actual money out to grant recipients.
In a way, your support worker takes on the role of administrator. He or she will shop and pay for any goods and courses with you or for you.
They will deal with all the extra paperwork and keep all records on your behalf and so, if any paperwork or receipts are lost or unaccounted for, it is the support worker that is held responsible, not you.
