Homeless voters challenge politicians with Crisis

Crisis, the national charity for single homeless people is running a campaign raising the voice of homeless people in politics.

In the Crisis ‘Get a Voice, Get a Vote' campaign, the national charity for single homeless people is registering homeless people to vote and enabling Crisis members in London to put their questions to election candidates. Crisis is also going to hold a Housing and Homelessness Question Time at its centre in Newcastle (1)   bringing together homeless people to challenge local candidates on their measures to end homelessness.

The Crisis Housing and Homelessness Question Time on Thursday 22 April forms part of Crisis' ongoing agenda to support homeless people voice their views directly to politicians and other decision makers. The event will be open to the public and so bring together often marginalised homeless voters with the wider community to challenge politicians on the housing and homelessness issues that can affect all across society.

Chaired by the BBC North East's Political Editor, Richard Moss, the Question Time promises to simultaneously empower homeless people, challenge politicians and bring together the wider community in important political discourse.
