SmartMove provides homeless or vulnerably housed people with comprehensive housing advice and access to good quality accommodation in the private sector. It offers landlords a guarantee in place of the traditional deposit. It can provide the tenants with ongoing support and advice to enable them to sustain their tenancies, as well as befriending support from volunteers for new tenants who may be living independently for the first time.

About SmartMove North Devon:
The homelessness and housing situation in North Devon, particularly Barnstaple, Bideford and Ilfracombe continues to get worse and there is a great shortage of decent affordable property available to clients. High unemployment, low wages and short seasonal work all play a big part in this, along with drug and alcohol problems.
As part of the Deposit Guarantee Scheme, we aim to offer clients a moving-in pack and provide access to our successful furniture scheme, Jigsaw Furniture Project.
