SmartMove provides homeless or vulnerably housed people with comprehensive housing advice and access to good quality accommodation in the private sector. It offers landlords a guarantee in place of the traditional deposit. It can provide the tenants with ongoing support and advice to enable them to sustain their tenancies, as well as befriending support from volunteers for new tenants who may be living independently for the first time.

About SmartMove Sheffield:
SmartMove Sheffield operates a bond guarantee and tenancy support scheme. The scheme will work with clients and landlords across the city.

Clients access the scheme for a variety of reasons including unsuitable accommodation, being asked to leave home and relationship breakdown.

We have a project worker who will work closely with the tenants to support them in their tenancies with a view to independent living.

In addition to tenancy support we are now able to offer ongoing advice and support to landlords who work with the scheme. This may be supporting landlords who are new to the “buy to let” market or updating more experienced landlord on changes in legislation and practice.

The scheme receives its funding from Sheffield City Council Supporting People and The Big Lottery Fund.
