SmartMove provides homeless or vulnerably housed people with comprehensive housing advice and access to good quality accommodation in the private sector. It offers landlords a guarantee in place of the traditional deposit. It can provide the tenants with ongoing support and advice to enable them to sustain their tenancies, as well as befriending support from volunteers for new tenants who may be living independently for the first time.

About SmartMove Southport:
There is very little council housing available in Southport, and the wait for a three bedroom house can be 10 - 11 years or even longer for single people.
Rents and house prices are very high and out of the reach of most people. There are some rough sleepers, though many more are trapped in a cycle of sleeping on floors and settees. SmartMove is one of the few ways out.
Our Partners:
Southport Housing Centre and the Youth Involvement and Training Project (which offers basic skills training in IT, arts & crafts for 16-25 year olds) are both projects also run by Light for Life.
