Juliet became homeless, despite having a job. She went to her local council after having nowhere else to go, but she was turned away. Today, Bob Blackman’s Homelessness Reduction Bill is due to become an Act of Parliament after being granted Royal Assent. The Act will give councils a legal duty to give people meaningful support to resolve their homelessness and will introduce measures to prevent people like Juliet becoming homeless in the first place.
