So we wanted to give a huge shout out to our wonderful tutors in the learning team at Crisis.
In Birmingham we have an amazing, and dedicated team Delivering a varied and tailored programme of learning:
Essential Skills, Arts and Technical Skills, Core Skills, Smart Skills, Health and Wellbeing.

The way they have adapted Online Learning for members has been amazing!

Education and Upskilling all work towards our aim to end homelessness for our members.

Name: Isobel (Issy)

Job title: Essential skills and Inclusion Tutor

What will you be doing in your role? I will be teaching literacy, numeracy and digital inclusion skills sessions to members.

Job Title: DIY/Skilled Trades Tutor

What will I be doing in my role: My trade background is in Painting & Decorating so when we return to classes there will be plenty of opportunities for members to develop or learn new skills in all aspects of decorating, including surface preparation, applying paint to walls and ceilings by brush and roller and hanging wallpaper. There will also be workshops for upcycling and creating decorative effects such as stencilling and rag rolling, alongside tutorials on DIY, repairs and maintenance. Everything from putting up shelves to building flat pack furniture. I will be delivering the Level 1 Health & Safety in a Construction Environment CSCS Card. This qualification can help provide members a pathway to employment in the Construction Industry.

Can you tell us something interesting about yourself? On the 13th July 1985 I, along with 72,000 other music fans was at Wembley Stadium for Live Aid. 1.9 Billion people across 150 nations watched the global event live on TV. So if you think you may have seen me before…………………..
