The Participation Coordinator will enable Art's at the Old Fire Station to deepen our engagement with Crisis members, develop local partnerships, champion the role of arts for social change, monitor our work carefully and actively engage in formative evaluation at all stages of the process. This supports our work to enable people facing disadvantage to develop their creativity, social skills and resilience by being part of a public arts centre as audience, participants, volunteers, trainees and artists.
At Crisis Skylight Oxford we share the building with Arts at the Old Fire Station who run a Theatre, Gallery and Shop.
Arts at the Old Fire with Crisis members by:
- Offering training and volunteering opportunities to Crisis members, who can learn a wide variety of skills front of house, in the shop and backstage.
- Providing opportunities for Crisis members to create and show work with professional artists, from Gallery exhibitions such as 2016’s ShedSpace, to the ongoing Theatre project Hidden Spire.
- Enabling Crisis members to see shows and learn about the exhibitions in our Gallery.
