No one should be homeless and alone this Christmas. 2020 has been a tough year for many of us and has it’s shown us how much we depend on each other for connection, hope, and support in difficult times. It has also reminded us how essential a safe and secure home is, for our physical and mental wellbeing.
This Christmas may look different to last year’s, but however you spend it, you could still support Crisis and raise vital funds to support those experiencing homelessness. Why not join people all over the country and take on the 12 Days of Crisis challenge this Christmas and participate in twelve days of fundraising.
It’s totally up to you what challenges you set yourself and when you want to start your twelve days. You could choose a new fundraising idea every day, or one that you take part in throughout. You could even challenge friends or family members to do it with you. We’ve put together some suggestions of what you could do below, but we’d love to see your ideas and creativity! Do it your way and make it your own 12 Days of Crisis.
There’s plenty of resources to support you in whatever you choose to do, and if there’s anything else we can help with you can just contact us via firstname.lastname@example.org.
It costs £28.22 to give the gift of a Crisis Christmas. A gift of a Crisis Christmas will give someone who is homeless access to:
Why not bundle up and get sponsored to take on a walking challenge?
If you’re working from home, why not donate the price of one day or week’s bus/train/tube?
Invite your friends and family to join you on Zoom for a Christmas movie night.
Set yourself a distance and help spread festive cheer (and awareness!) by dressing as your favourite Christmas character…or Santa himself!
Get together with your favourite people, for an afternoon of crafting, whether you crochet, sew or make a mess!
Get your friends and family together for everyone’s favourite lockdown activity.
Share your skills with others through an online tutorial.
There is no sleeping soundly without a safe home. Open the eyes of those around to the issues of UK homelessness by pledging to stay awake all night.
Set yourself and your friends a challenge to upcycle an item each and see who can raise the most money from selling theirs!
Transform your staircase into the world’ most iconic structures and climb your way to the top.
Have a pre-Christmas clear out and do a Zoom auction with friends and family!
Having a Coffee Morning is the perfect chance to catch up over a cuppa and a slice of something delicious for a great cause.
Whatever you’re planning for your 12 Days of Crisis, we have everything you need to spread the word about your fundraising, from posters to sponsorship forms, and even bunting.
Don’t forget to shout about it on social media – we’ve got resources for that too.
We can’t wait to see what ideas you come up with, and if you need any further support, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us via email@example.com.
