Charity shop volunteering

Meet like-minded people. Promote sustainable fashion. Help end homelessness.

As a Shop from Crisis volunteer, you will join fun, supportive and creative teams that want to make a difference in their local areas. You'll get a chance to interact with customers and connect with a diverse range of volunteers and staff.

We currently have 15 high street charity shops in bustling London neighbourhoods. Each shop showcases a range of quality furniture, jewellery and clothing from independent and vintage brands.

As a retail volunteer you can be involved in a range of activities including:

  • chatting to customers and making them feel welcome
  • sorting, pricing and presenting donations
  • serving customers at the till and processing Gift Aid
  • creating eye-catching window displays
  • serving coffee in one of our four in-shop cafes.

Whether you can offer a couple of hours or a couple of days per week, all our retail volunteers make a huge difference to our work, raising the funds to support more people out of homelessness.

Find a charity shop volunteer role

"We love our volunteers and all the great work they do to help us raise money for Crisis. Bringing their knowledge, skills and passions from a diverse range of experiences, they add a uniqueness that makes our shops come alive and thrive. Whether it’s amazing customer service, organisation skills, vibrant artworks for our walls or making great content for our socials, volunteers contribute greatly to all aspects of our shops. It’s a cliché to say we couldn’t do it without them, but it’s absolutely true.”
Rob Smith, Shop Manager - Camden
