Crisis Skylight Edinburgh celebrates Book Week Scotland

Crisis Skylight Edinburgh held a series of literary workshops for homeless and vulnerably housed people in celebration of Book Week Scotland.

The workshops were led by masters of their craft who visited Crisis Skylight Edinburgh throughout the week sharing their passion and talent.

Visitors included: poet Nancy Somerville, who ran a poetry session; John Chalmers and Sandra Marss, who delivered a workshop on comic character creation; and journalist Claire Black of Scotland on Sunday, who gave members of the newsletter group tips on feature writing.

Director of Crisis Skylight Edinburgh, Ann Landels, said: “It was a fantastic week. Our members had a terrific time and really enjoyed taking part in the workshops. I’d like to thank all the workshop leaders for making the week such an overwhelming success.”

Book Week Scotland 2012 ran between 26 November and 3rd December. Set up by the Scottish Book Trust, Book Week is a celebration of national literature and aims to encourage readers and writers throughout the country.
