Today, St Mungo’s has announced that their Chief Executive Steve Douglas sadly passed away at his home yesterday.

Responding to the tragic news Matt Downie, Crisis Chief Executive, said: “I, and everyone at Crisis, is shocked and deeply saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Steve Douglas. This is a huge loss for the homelessness sector – our thoughts go out to his family, friends and colleagues at this incredibly difficult time.

“Since Steve took over at St Mungo’s it has been an incredible pleasure to work alongside him. His voice has been crucial in our mission to end homelessness. Through his leadership as we came out of the pandemic he sought to harness the vital progress made to tackle rough sleeping. We will sorely miss his passion and dedication to seeing homelessness ended for good.”
