This Christmas, people facing homelessness in South Wales will need support. Crisis works at Christmas and all year round to support people in Swansea, Neath and Port Talbot to build lives beyond homelessness.
Every year thanks to our Christmas appeal we offer much needed warmth, healthcare, food and company to people experiencing homelessness which we will be providing throughout December.
Our Christmas services work alongside the specialist support we provide all year, which includes helping people to find their own stable home, to access education and training.
Get involved in your local area by attending a Crisis event, volunteering your time, supporting Crisis through fundraising or providing gifts for our guests. Will you help start someone’s life beyond homelessness?

In 2020 the Christmas offer had to be radically reviewed and redesigned to respond to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic. We have learnt a lot through our review and evaluation of last Christmas and as a result are making some changes to how we run our project in future. In Birmingham we are working alongside some members to coproduce the Christmas offer this year and hope that this will bring the best of previous Christmas’ for our guests.

We received a huge amount of positive feedback in 2020 from guests that received our gift bag and food hamper deliveries and so we will be continuing this offer. It means we can give to more people and also can support their children too.
We work closely with partner organisations across the city to ensure all members and guests accessing Birmingham’s Christmas have access to accommodation. Staff will be available at all Christmas events to provide information, advice and guidance around housing options for any guests that require this.
Of course, you are welcome to volunteer in a new shift, location or a different role if we have space available.
Some of our roles require previous experience or qualifications and others do not.
Professional service volunteers, such as those completing health checks or haircuts will require the relevant qualifications and public liability insurance.
We are looking for volunteers with experience of supporting people who are homeless or other vulnerable adult groups for some roles that are working closely with guests, this includes our Christmas Dinner Companions who will be volunteering in pairs to support a group of guests for the day.

If you are feeling poorly we urge you to not volunteer until you are feeling better.
As we prioritise the health of our guests, volunteers who display any symptoms will be asked to leave their shift.
We have volunteering opportunities that come up year-round and are advertised on our website.
