Crawley Deposit Service
Project summary
The Crawley Deposit Service assists homeless people to secure accommodation in the private rented sector. Having started a tenancy, tenants then save for a deposit over the duration of the tenancy in order to become independent of the Council in the future.
Clients
Who is eligible?
- Be homeless or threatened with homelessness
- Be financially able to manage a tenancy in the private rented sector (rent, food, utilities etc)
- Need the financial assistance of the council to be able to access private rented accommodation
- Have a connection to Crawley by one of the following:
Permanent employment in CrawleyLived in Crawley for six out of the last twelve months or three out of the last five years
Have immediate family (a parent, brother or sister) who has lived in Crawley for five years or more - Not owe any money to Crawley Borough Council
- Not have any outstanding current or former rent arrears with any previous landlord
- Not have lost accommodation due to anti-social behaviour in the last five years
- Have confirmation that they have opened an account with Boom*.
