The Rent Deposit Scheme is run by East Dunbartonshire Council to assist homeless households to access accommodation in the private sector.

Clients

Who is eligible?

Clients must be aged 16 or over, homeless or threatened with homelessness, on a low income and/or benefits but capable of living independently.

  • Welcome packs (food, furniture, kitchen items, etc)
  • Housing Benefit assistance
  • Practical support for tenants (e.g. advice on setting up tenancy/deposit)
  • Bond Guarantees
  • Assistance with finding properties in the PRS

The scheme provides help with housing benefits/advice and help finding suitable properties. Referrals to other agencies.
