NextStep, YMCA East Surrey

Project summary

NextStep provides assistance to families and individuals referred by the Housing Department in need of housing to secure accommodation in the private rented sector.  A Guarantee deposit bond in place of a cash deposit is available.

Clients

Who is eligible?

Individuals and couples aged 18+ with a local connection to the area.

Client services

• Assessment of client needs
• Assistance with finding properties in the PRS
• Deposit guarantee
• Housing Benefit assistance
• Practical support for tenants (e.g. advice on setting up tenancy/deposit)
• Signposting for education, volunteering and employment opportunities
• Tenancy support service

If you are in housing need, for example threatened with homelessness and on a low income or receiving benefits. If you are single, a couple or a family with non dependent children then you can be referred to the project by Tandridge District Council.
