Project summary

The council's deposit guarantee scheme is intended to help people who are homeless or in housing need, by offering landlords a guarantee to cover loss or damage during a tenancy.

Clients

Who is eligible?

To be eligible for the scheme you must be:-

• Aged 18+
• In housing need
• Unable to raise the deposit
• Have a local connection to the area

If there is any loss or damage a claim must be made within seven days of the tenant leaving. Landlords receive free advertisements for their properties if no suitable tenants are immediately available.
