Project summary

The scheme supports homeless people, including rough sleepers, to access accommodation in the private rented sector through the provision of intensive support and a bond scheme.

Clients

Who is eligible?

Homeless or at risk of homelessness in the Liverpool and Merseyside Region; has the capacity to sustain a tenancy with appropriate support and private renting is the best option.

Client services
  • Support can include:-
    • Advice and advocacy to help prevent you losing your home
    • Advice and advocacy in dealing with your landlord and where appropriate liaison with Environmental Health, legal services etc.
    • Ensuring you are receiving any welfare benefits to which you are entitled
    • Help with budgeting and finance and organisational planning to manage utilities and household bills
    • Developing independent living skills
    • Developing links with the local community including cultural, faith and other community organisations
    • Help in establishing personal safety and security
    • Any help needed to fulfil the responsibilities of a tenancy agreement e.g. getting on with neighbours; know-how to deal with repairs and any improvements to the property; ensure the accommodation is warm, safe and secure
    • Support to access other services you may need e.g. health, mental health, where appropriate services that can help with alcohol or substance use
    • Help in accessing purposeful activity such as voluntary work, education and employment
