Cooking with Numbers: 2nd October - 23rd of October 11am-2pm
A cooking class with a difference! We are running 4 cooking workshops during the month of October aimed at helping you learn to prepare and cook delicious meals whilst improving your knowledge and confidence with basic numeracy. The cooking sessions will take place at the Leith Community Centre and you can help decide which recipes will me made! Please speak to your lead worker to sign up.
ESOL college application drop-in: 28th October 1pm-4pm
Are you thinking of applying for a part-time or full-time ESOL course at college starting in January 2026? If so we encourage you to come along to our drop-in on the 28th of October where you will receive support from our team with your application.
College applications open on this date and it’s best to get your application in as early as possible to increase your chances of getting onto the course.
Repair and Maintenance Project at The Yard: 22nd October - 17th December 3pm-4.30pm
The Yard in Edinburgh is an adventure playground for children with disabilities and their families. The Repair and Maintenance Project at The Yard is a project where we go to The Yard every Wednesday for one and half hours to help the staff keep the playground clean, tidy and safe for the children to use. We also have the opportunity to create and build new things for the children to play with through upcycling wooden pallets, tires and other useful items lying around. The project has access to a wide range of small hand tools and all personal protective equipment e.g. boots, gloves overalls etc. are provided by The Yard. The project starts on Wednesday 22nd October from 3.00pm until 4.30pm and runs every week at the same time until Wednesday until 17th of December.
ESOL with Numbers: 22nd September - 1st December 2.30pm-4.30pm
The first class will be a course registration where the tutor will assess your level of English to make sure the learning material suits your learning needs. After this there will be a class every Monday (except 13th of October) until the 1st of December. Our ESOL classes are run by Multiply and focus on language learning and improving numeracy at the same time.
IT drop in: every Tuesday 1.30pm-3.30pm
Come along for free advice and support for all things IT! Drop-in and sit down with a member of our team. We can offer support with a single issue or develop your skills for things such as email support, CV writing and bidding.
Street soccer: every Thursday 12pm-2pm (Leith)
An opportunity to come along to free football sessions every week. New players are always welcome. Street soccer welcomes people from all walks of life and aims to create an inclusive and fun environment for all involved. Please speak to your lead worker for more information. Your lead worker or a member of the S&A team would be happy to accompany you for the first few sessions.
Eye Clinic: Monday appointments
Vision Care for Homeless People are running an eye clinic from the second floor of our building. The eye clinic will be running on a regular basis and anyone who is at risk of or experiencing homelessness can have their eyes tested for free and receive free glasses if they need them.
