Bensons for Beds is helping Crisis put homelessness to bed
Last updated: 23.02.2026
“A safe place to sleep is the first step towards rebuilding a life. Support from partners like Bensons for Beds helps us provide comfort, dignity, and practical help to people facing or experiencing homelessness. Together, we can make sure more people have the stability they need to move forward.”
- Kelly Holliday, National Partnerships Lead, Crisis
This National Bed Month, we’re celebrating our partnership with bed retailer Bensons for Beds.
Our partnership began in 2022 and has always felt like a natural fit. For many people experiencing homelessness, a bed offers more than just physical rest, it provides emotional and psychological relief. It represents safety, stability, and the possibility of a better future. When Bensons for Beds has a supply of high-quality surplus mattresses, they don’t see waste, they see potential.
So far, more than 300 unused mattresses have been donated to Crisis as gift-in-kind stock, either to be resold online to raise funds or given directly to people experiencing homelessness. Through this initiative, Bensons and Crisis have raised £9,558, alongside more than £100,000 in wider fundraising.

This March, Bensons is running a campaign where £5 from every Slumberland mattress sold will be donated to Crisis. In addition, five customers will have the full value of their mattress purchase, from Simply by Bensons right up to Hypnos, donated to Crisis. The campaign will be running online and across over 170 Bensons for Beds shops nationwide.

"We're thrilled to be running this fundraising activity for Crisis in March, particularly as this month is National Bed Month - an important reminder of just how crucial it is that everyone has a safe place to lay their head."
- Nick Collard, Chief Executive Officer, Bensons for Beds.
We’re proud to continue our partnership with Bensons for Beds and look forward to building on what we can achieve together. Thank you for standing alongside people facing homelessness and helping to make a real difference.
