The COVID-19 pandemic saw London Skylight close its doors temporarily to in-person tours, talks and workshops for corporate partners, as staff worked to adapt to new virtual ways of working and maintain consistent contact with our members (people experiencing homelessness) over Zoom, phone and text.
We are delighted to be re-opening our doors to our incredible supporters this year, with in-person events and tours of our support services seeing corporate partners return to our flagship Skylight centre to witness first-hand the impact of their donations on people experiencing homelessness.
On Tuesday 06 September, we welcomed a cohort of guests from specialist mortgage broker Vida Homeloans for a tour of the Skylight, and a short Crisis Homelessness Awareness Training (CHAT) session, which covered:
- what we define as homelessness
- the causes and solutions to the issue
- the relationship between public policy and homelessness
- how Crisis and the Frameworks Institute are looking to reframe the way the public thinks and talks about people experiencing homelessness.
Vida staff had the opportunity to meet Crisis staff working on the frontline to support people out of homelessness, and one attendee said:
'Thank you for an inspiring tour of the Skylight centre today. We all came away with a far deeper understanding and appreciation of the work Crisis does, and a determination to go even further as a business to support you and the amazing work you and your colleagues do.'
Thank you to Vida staff for taking the time to visit our Skylight and learn more about how we can work together to make homelessness a thing of the past. If you are a business interested in exploring a corporate partnership with Crisis, please get in touch via ella.dinsdale@crisis.org.uk.
