Bake for Crisis: Ryecroft Community Hub

Today we'd like to say a huge thank you to Crisis supporters from Ryecroft Community Hub, who held a Bake for Crisis event and raised an amazing £258 for people experiencing homelessness.

Ryecroft NRC is situated in the most deprived area of Walsall. They were set up in 2000 to provide resources to the local community, tackling issues identified by people in the local area.

Over the years, they have excelled in training, helping people find employment and supporting people setting up businesses.

In 2012, they were chosen to spearhead a new initiative of setting up community hubs to meet the needs of local service users, including:

  • Employment training
  • Crime and anti-social behaviour
  • Children and young people
  • The elderly
  • Fitness and wellbeing

Today, they also serve the growing needs of the energy crisis, homelessness and social isolation. They work with local business and charities to reduce waste and share surplus food with people experiencing homelessness. They also provide community classes, health and wellbeing services, and have an allotment where they grow plants and fresh produce to teach community members.

And they did an incredible job of bringing their community together for a bake sale, raising essential funds for people experiencing homelessness.

Thank you to all involved!
