Volunteer fundraising groups

Our fundraising groups bring a passion for ending homelessness in their local area – they raise vital funds by putting on fundraising events, and act as ambassadors in their communities to spread the word about homelessness and the work that Crisis does.

How they help end homelessness

Our fundraising groups achieve brilliant things – coming together to end homelessness for good. They work together to put on fundraising events (such as collections, pub quizzes, sponsored walks) and engage their communities by talking about homelessness, what needs to happen to end homelessness and the work that Crisis is doing.

They do this by:

  •  Planning and organising fundraising events to take place across the year
  •  Meeting regularly as a group to reflect on events held and discuss future activities
  •  Developing relationships and representing Crisis in their local communities, including attending events
  •  Campaigning to help end homelessness
  •  Working alongside a Fundraising Manager to identify opportunities

Our Bristol group

Crisis Bristol Group was formed in 2019 by a group of volunteers passionate about the work Crisis does.

Crisis Bristol Group was formed in 2019 by a group of volunteers passionate about the work Crisis does. Being a volunteer for Crisis is both empowering and inspiring, and as a group we wanted to fundraise and campaign in Bristol to raise awareness and connect with Bristol based homelessness charities and local government. In the past 18 months we’ve raised over £6000 by holding a range of events, from quiz nights to the first ice breaker challenge in the South West. Vicky, Bristol Group Lead

The pandemic challenged us to be more innovative, and we’ve held webinars, virtual quiz nights and created a taster evening with 6 different sessions where people could try new things like choir, yoga, sign language or Zumba, and many more.

We are proud to be part of the work Crisis does, and we are looking forward to holding more events, building more connections, and being part of the movement to end homelessness
