Let’s end homelessness in Wales: Help us send a clear message to newly elected Members of the Senedd

A month on from the Senedd election and we have a new party leading Wales for the first time since devolution and an unprecedented 70% of Members of the Senedd (MSs) sitting in the Welsh parliament are new to the role.

This moment matters.

Right now, your MSs are setting their priorities for the next four years. We need to tell our representatives that a commitment to ending homelessness for everyone in Wales must be at the heart of the decisions that they take in the coming weeks, months and years.

With Crisis Cymru’s new online action, it only takes a minute to write to your local Senedd members, urging them to back bold action to end homelessness.

Currently, there are more than 12,000 households in Wales stuck in the very worst forms of homelessness and thousands more struggling under the pressure of unsuitable, unaffordable or unsafe homes. At Crisis Cymru, we know that it doesn’t have to be this way and that systems change can make a big difference. Together we can end homelessness in Wales.

With your support, we can send a clear message to MSs to support evidence-backed action to:

  • Create a new national plan to end homelessness, working alongside people with lived experience of homelessness and charities like Crisis Cymru
  • Strengthen homelessness prevention and support for people experiencing homelessness, particularly by investing in the new Homelessness and Social Housing Allocations Act
  • Increase the number of affordable, social homes in Wales to meet the needs of people who are facing homelessness.
