New £150k fund for projects helping homeless people to rent

Crisis has launched a two year funding programme offering a total of ?150k to local projects supporting homeless people or those at risk of homelessness to rent a home.

The Crisis Help-to-Rent Programme is open to statutory and voluntary services working with single homeless people.

Projects can apply for sums of up to £30k per year for two years.

The deadline for expressions of interest is August 1, with funding for successful applicants to commence on October 1. The programme aims to fund services that will be champions of best practice and work with Crisis to promote their models across the UK.

The programme is particularly aimed at projects focussing on sharing in the private rented or social housing sectors, as well as social lettings agencies, housing association partnerships and projects to tackle rural homelessness. The programme will also fund at least one service in both Scotland and Wales.

Projects can express their interest through a simple online system, with more detailed applications invited in the second stage.
